in dark navy and gold.
Description of the Illustration: Above and below are two versions of a Torah, one with a white background the other with a black background.

Torah (/ˈtɔːrəˌˈtrə/; Hebrew: תּוֹרָה, "Instruction, Teaching"), or the Pentateuch (/ˈpɛntəˌtk, -ˌtjk/), is the central reference of the religious Judaic tradition. It has a range of meanings. It can most specifically mean the first five books of the twenty-four books of the Tanakh, and it usually includes the rabbinic commentaries. The term Torah means instruction and offers a way of life for those who follow it; it can mean the continued narrative from Genesis to the end of the Tanakh, and it can even mean the totality of Jewish teaching, culture and practice. Common to all these meanings, Torah consists of the foundational narrative of the Jews: their call into being by God, their trials and tribulations, and their covenant with their God, which involves following a way of life embodied in a set of moral and religious obligations and civil laws (halakha). The scripture is also often referenced to emphasize that God's ways are higher than man's and that one must sacrifice for the greater good of others in order to do God's will. Description of Illumination: The second full chapter of Psalms from the 1900 King James Bible,  comes in three color combinations: blue/pale blue, red/pink, and tan/beige, originally printed in an Anglican Psalter

Why do the heathen so furiously rage together: & why do the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together; against the Lord,  and against his Anointed. 3 Let us break their bonds asunder: & cast away their cords from us. 4 He that dwelleth in heaven shall laugh them to scorn: the Lord shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath: and vex them in his sore displeasure. 6 Yet have I set my King: upon my holy hill of Zion. 7 I will preach the law, whereof the Lord hath said unto me: Thou are my Son, this day have I begotten thee. 8 Desire of me, & I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance: and the utmost parts of the earth for thy possession. 9 Thou shalt bruise them with a rod of iron: and break them in pieces like a potter's vessel. 10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be learned, ye that are judges of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord in fear: and rejoice unto him with reverence. 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and so ye perish from the right way: if his wrath be kindled, (yea, but a little,) blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

rubbish, that I may gain Christ..." Philippians 3:8 (BSB)

Psalms 1

Description of Illumination: from a 1904 Psalter, Church of England, King James Bible, this is the original King James Text from the 1900s, the Chapter comes in red/pink, blue/pale blue or in tan/beige:

"Blessed is the man that hath not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stood in the way of sinners: and hath not sat in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord: and in his law will he exercise himself day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the water-side: that will bring forth his fruit in due season. 4 His leaf also shall not wither: and look, whatsoever he doeth, it shall prosper. 5 As for the ungodly, it is not so with them: but they are like the chaff, which the wind scattereth away from the face of the earth. 6 Therefore the ungodly shall not be able to stand in the judgment: neither the sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 7 But the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: and the way of the ungodly shall perish."

Here is the cross reference for Psalm 1:1 from Jeremiah 15:17 (NIV). It has a white background.

Above is the cross reference for Psalm 1: 3-4, when the King James was updated, verse 4 was combined into verse 3 over time. However in the 1900 version there are 7 verses in the first chapter of Psalms. The original 4th verse is quite lovely. In either case the verse from Ezekiel is the cross reference for both.
