Chloe a woman, apparently of Corinth, in the time of Paul, in whose household were those who told Paul of strife among religious leaders in the early Christian Church, probably at Corinth.
Paul bade those who had disagreed to have no divisions among them, but to be "perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment" (I Cor. 1:10).
Chloe may have been a Christian or a pagan, and those from her household who went to Paul may have been her close friends or her slaves. That is unimportant. What is important is that members of her household brought to Paul rumors of dissension among these first Christians. by Edith Deen 1916
